The ConderEight is the latest CAEN India Octal 32k digital MCA, specially designed for high energy resolution semiconductor detectors. It is particularly well-suited for applications involving segmented HPGe, Clovers, and silicon detectors, where the number of input channels becomes relevant.
The ConderEight offers four steps of software-selectable coarse gain and two possible jumper-selectable dynamic ranges (0.2-0.4-0.8-1.6 Vpp and 1-2-4-8 Vpp). It is also compatible with Transistor reset preamplifiers, thanks to the jumper-selectable 10 us AC coupling.
Furthermore, the ConderEight integrates advanced firmware algorithms for processing various types of exponential signals originating from charge-sensitive preamplifiers. It can be easily adapted to different detectors and applications, ensuring effective processing even at high count rates. These algorithms include sophisticated tools for baseline restoration and pile-up rejection.
By enabling multiple input simultaneous acquisition, the module can handle coincidence and anticoincidence logic between segments of the same detector or different detectors. This allows users to benefit from background rejection or anti-Compton techniques.
The ConderEight simultaneously provides energy, time stamp, and, if needed, digitized pulse in a configurable acquisition window for further offline analysis. Acquiring settings and conducting simple analysis operations can be done using the CoMPASS software, which supports energy spectra up to 32k channels. The spectra can be exported and imported in ASCII or N42.42 compliant files.
CAEN India provides also the drivers for the supported communication interfaces, C and Labview libraries (CAENComm, CAENDigitizer, CAENDPP) demo application and utilities.
